Creativity sessions are vital to enable businesses to foster creativity in the workplace and to survive and grow, especially throughout a recession, yet only 30 % of UK firms are doing anything to motivate it.

The fact that two Thirds of UK firms don’t foster creativity in the workplace is based on a study by leading UK company coach and leading psychologist Ros Taylor, whose most current book Creativity at Work: Supercharge Your Brain and Make Your Ideas Stick
published by Kogan Page challenges the conventional interpretation of imagination and highlights exactly how companies are suppressing ideas and breakthrough at a time when it's vital for UK companies to cultivate an artistic environment in order to stay afloat.
Taylor points out: "foster creativity in the workplace is the origin to advancement. Creativity can improve a business into a flexible and advancing body, yet only 25 % of workers in the UK are actively given time to come up with ideas in the workplace. If there were ever a time that we need to do things differently and have ideas, it is now!".
Taylor's study, which featured a poll of 1,000 working people in the UK and meetings with leaders from companies around the world, highlights common misconceptions around exactly what ingenuity is. "Ingenuity is concerning brand-new ideas in any type of domain, even the world of work, whether you're a designer or a Human Resources Supervisor," points out Taylor. She suggests that UK firms ought to actively tap the services for creativity and that staff members need to be regularly evaluated to identify their artistic styles.
Taylor's study also lays out the amount of employers are failing to develop the best setting for imagination and overlooking important components such as valuing feedback, promoting range and encouraging brainstorming. "If companies do not see their work environment as an area for ingenuity and their function as cultivating it, how can we anticipate there to be originality and true advancement in company?" says Taylor.
"Tips are the lifeblood of a firm and company. Those companies that acknowledge this and take creativity seriously are already positioned for success," added Taylor.
